Maths
Wooh! Got into the BMO1 (relatively comfortably, to my shock). My Cambridge interview is two weeks Wednesday too; so soon!
But now maths, maths. So much Maths work!

University
Back on the long road to University, and my second form to Cambridge should be going off tomorrow - this one asking me why I chose a particular course, and various other questions to help them judge the education that I'm receiving. I just wish that my mother didn't make such a big fuss over it; those who have been there and done it all say that it really isn't all that important. I do think I'll have to swot up on everything I might have alluded to in my personal statement and form today in time for the interview. I'm not sure I could name, for example, a specific instance of me investigating the use of maths in some area of chemistry (perhaps the electron level stuff...).
I did receive an offer from Warwick though! AAA (inc Maths and Physics) or AAB (Maths, Phys and F. Maths). Quite nice, especially as it doesn't include STEP. On which, I'm attending some sessions for tomorrow afternoon, at the expense of my Chemistry lesson. At least Chemistry is least likely to be part of any offer.
Linux is moderately borked. Shift+Backspace restarts X, Beryl-manager kills the computer on its first run (the window decorations flash rapidly in and out of existence until I kill it and reload), and beryl is generally slow. I'll blame my newly enabled water plugin on the latter problem, but the rest is probably due to a illogical and broken toolchain, incorrectly built programs and incompatible dependencies (the kernel and a small handful of packages are GCC4, the rest are GCC3.4.).
